Korean Lash Lift vs. Lash Extensions: Which Actually Fits Your Life?

This is one of my favorite conversations to have with clients because it's really not about which one is "better" — it's about which one fits how you actually live.

The Case for a Korean Lash Lift

A lash lift works with your natural lashes — it curls and tints them so you wake up looking like you're already wearing mascara. No fill appointments, no risk of lash mites or bald patches from bad extension removal, and it lasts about 6-8 weeks. If you're low-maintenance, swim a lot, or just don't want a two-hour appointment every two to three weeks, this is usually the move.

The Case for Lash Extensions

Extensions give you length and volume your natural lashes physically can't do on their own. If you want that full, dramatic look every single day, extensions deliver it in a way a lift never will. The tradeoff is the upkeep — fills every 2-3 weeks, more careful cleansing, and a bigger investment over time.

Cost and Maintenance, Side by Side

  • Lash lift: Lower cost per appointment, appointments every 6-8 weeks, minimal daily maintenance

  • Extensions: Higher recurring cost, fills every 2-3 weeks, daily brushing and careful cleansing required

My Honest Take

If you've never done either, I usually point first-timers toward the lift — it's a smaller commitment and a great way to see how much you like enhanced lashes before committing to the extension cycle. If you already know you love a dramatic lash and you're prepared for the maintenance, extensions are worth it.
